SeaBird XP 480 LV

The SeaBird XP 480 LV is the smallest kayak in the Expedition series.This compact, comfortable and elegant sea kayak is best suited for smaller and medium-sized paddlers weighing between 40 and 85 kg.

One of the first aspects you'll notice about this kayak is its sleek lines.Expedition designs are based on the modern Swedish form - the widest point of the kayak is at the rear of the cockpit. This arrangement makes it easier to paddle forward because you can hold the paddle closer to your body.

Kayak Expedition is a fast and stable kayak. You'll be surprised how easily you can handle the conditions when paddling with wind and waves with this kayak. The Expedition has four dry storage compartments - two larger and two smaller.The large dry compartments can store equipment for a day picnic or even a week-long expedition. Smaller day compartments are used for storing essentials on the water (for example: food, drinks, spare jacket, gloves, etc.).

The smallest day storage compartment is made of soft and durable neoprene and is designed to store your cell phone, GPS, sunglasses, etc.There are rubber straps on the back and front of the kayak deck that are used for attaching equipment:drinking water, spare paddle, car mattress, etc. The Expedition kayak has ergonomic handles in the bow and stern for transporting the kayak on land.

Sitting in the kayak is very comfortable, thanks to the wide cockpit for easy access, padded seat and adjustable thigh rests. The kayak also includes a new backrest adjustment system that allows you to adjust your position while sitting safely in the boat. The thigh rests can also be adjusted ten centimetres in either direction.

The SeaBird Designs Expedition models were designed by Ingvar Ankervik. He is the fourth generation of boat builders and designers in his family and one of the oldest kayak manufacturers in the world. SeaBird Patong Set is a kayak safety kit consisting of two air floats and two holders. This system, developed by Swedish company VKV, is designed for most composite kayaks from SeaBird Design. It offers many advantages over other safety equipment or methods (such as using a paddle or Eskimo roll).

A set of floats adds stability to any kayak. The floats are easy to attach after capsizing (or beforehand if you feel out of your comfort zone). The floats allow you to paddle in rough waters without fear of capsizing, make it easier to get back into your kayak, and their stability helps you get out of difficult situations. They also provide stability during various activities such as swimming, fishing, diving, photography, filming, or even just enjoying a cup of coffee.

If the kayak capsizes, they can also be used for self-rescue where they stabilize the kayak while you are getting back into it.

The float system can be used in many ways and on most SeaBird Design kayak models. The location behind the cockpit and the pointed shape ensure they won't get in the way when paddling and reduce speed by a maximum of 5%.
