English whitewater guide WW guide
Code: 104383Product detailed description
- Welcome to the second edition of English Whitewater, the British Canoe Union's guide to the wild rivers of England. Having established itself as a key guide to the best of England s wild water, this second wilting adds more to the myriad challenging steep streams, classic river trips and previously unknown offerings that are paddling in England.
- This second edition has been completely revised and updated. It describes 340 rivers and playspots, with 90 new entries in this edition. It is a comprehensive guide to England's wild rivers, and artificial wild streams.
- The guide is illustrated with photographs and maps, and the new format makes it even easier to find the information you need. The guide is divided into five geographic areas: the Southwest, South and East, Northeast, Northwest, and West, each of which is further divided into sections grouping rivers from the same location. Generally these sections are based around the basins of the larger rivers and work from the headwaters down; but we have made exceptions to this in an effort to ensure that the rivers appear in the book in the most useful order for the reader.
- English Whitewater is a joint effort on behalf of the British Canoe Union. From the involvement of publisher Pesda Press, regional coordinators and contributors to the involvement of local waterways advisors and coaching services, this work reflects the collective experience and knowledge network of enthusiasts who are all willing to share their perspective on England's many and varied rivers. Regional Editors: South West - Mark Rainsley; South East - Andrew Jackson; North East and North West - Jim Pullen; West - Bill Taylor.
